We are very pleased to announce that Honourable Justice (Rtd.) Alnashir Visram has joined JMiles & Co. and its sister company Desai & Co. Advocates as a Senior Consultant. Justice Visram was appointed as a judge of the High Court of Kenya in 1999; elevated to the Court of Appeal, then the highest court in Kenya, and in 2011 was one of the official nominees of the President for the position of Chief Justice of Kenya. Since 2019, Justice Visram has been appointed as Chair to various Tribunals investigating the conduct of judges in Kenya. During his time on the bench, Justice Visram has presided over several landmark cases across various sectors, rendering some historic judgments that broke new ground in legal jurisprudence in Kenya. In private practice, Justice Visram continues to provide legal advice to private clients and corporates on all aspects of litigation before the Courts in Kenya and has acted as arbitrator and mediator on a number of high profile matters.
